Free Class at Kimz
Well on Friday we had a fun free day at Kimz . The idea was to have fun and not stress about what the end product would look like. There was a few nervous ladies to begin with but it did not take long before they settled in and hopefully had fun. The idea came from Heirloom Creations website and it was a Jelly Roll Race. We did not race but it is a very quick and easy quilt to get done in a matter of hours.
The Ladies are shown here starting their Jelly joll quilt we had the old and the new in sewing machines on the day. Sandra had her Mum's original Singer Featherweight . The poor little machine had to rest half way through as it got very hot, not use to the work Sandra put her through on the day.
Helen's Quilt she was the first to finish Yahoo what a beautiful and colourful quilt she is going to applique on it and add a border |
This is Pamela's end result of the Jelly Roll Race it is made from the Cappacino Bali Pop and pieced together on the bias
This is Trish's Quilt made with same Bali Pop as Pamela's but joined on the straight and a different look altogether can you imagine a huge Panda appliqued on it and turned to it's side Yes. |
This is Sandra's very smart and cloourful top. |
Denise had had this Jelly Roll for years she said and was happy with her quick quilt top isn't it fresh. |
Cheryl finished hers and was happy too!! The fabric has little tickets printed on it and they are the vertical lines on the strips that you can see.
Shirley on the left this is her end result .Shirley has a large Collection of Australiana Strips and used them. I Think her quilt was just lovely a unique I spy for any child it was just lovely and fun to serch for all the different Aussie stuff.
.
Dianne's is very colourful and was a smaller collection than the normal Jelly Roll so it was a smaller top so she is going to add a big colourful border keep posted to see the result
So Over all the ladies were happy with their quick quilt tops and will be coming along to Pamela's Tuesday sewing day to add borders and applique. Keep your eye on the Kimz website and join up our newsletter so you do not miss out on the next FREE FUN DAY
