Show & Tell 2020

Wow... what a year 2020 was!  Here at Kimz we ended the year with our annual Christmas Party.

As always we encouraged our ladies to bring along some of their amazing makes from throughout the year and we were inspired by their creations.

Tina has been working on this quilt during the year for her husband.  The pattern is designed by Laurie Shifrin and is called "Antelope Canyon".  The fabrics came in a kit.

Tina completed her "Over The Hill" quilt.  This was our Block of the Month through 2020.  The original pattern by Wendy Williams was modified for our classes.

Tina finished this stunning foundation paper pieced quilt "La Vie Est Belle".  Pattern by Jacqueline de Jongue of BeColourful Quilts.  Quilted by our very own Pamela Jones.

This is Roxy's version of the "Over The Hill" block of the month quilt.  She has kept the basic structure of the quilt but has chosen to make it Halloween themed by changing the applique shapes and using seasonal fabrics.

Judith made her "Foxley Village" which was our 2019 block of the month quilt.  This pattern is by Natalie Bird of The Birdhouse Designs and combines both applique and piecing.  Quilted by Lisa Reynolds.

Liz has been making a few ByAnnie bags.  Here pictured is the "Bon Voyage" tote bag and the "Running with Scissors" she made here in class.

This glorious cushion made by Libby features a Double Dresden block which was taught in our "Oh My Block" class.

Here is another fantastic "Over The Hill" quilt made by Libby and featuring a colourful pieced rainbow as her border.

Libby made 2,024 Suffolk Puffs (Yo-Yo's) to create this jaw dropping quilt.

The back of the quilt is as equally amazing!

Caroline completed this hand sewing project which was a challenge set by Textile Artist Anne Brooke, called Sew 4 The Soul.  There were regular prompts to add certain elements to create this gorgeous hand pieced work.

Diane made this lovely blue and grey quilt using needle turn and machine applique.

With a pieced backing using the leftover fabric.

Dianne has made this lovely crazy log cabin quilt which is quilt as you go.

Dianne also made this one in oriental fabrics.

Dianne made this fun kaleidoscope quilt using only one main fabric and and background fabric.

Helen made a His and Hers quilt using some classic quilt blocks.

This lovely quilt is from the "Red Bird" book by Natalie Bird

Helen also made the Jen Kingwell quilt called "Glitter" using some colourful fabrics.

Catrina got a little bit of hand stitching done for a wall hanging.

Catrina learnt so much about her new Bernina 570QE embroidery machine doing the Embroidery Essentials course.  Here she is with her yellow and orange version.

Gillian made a classic "Drunkards Path" quilt in black and whites.

With a pieced border on the back from leftover fabrics.

Beverley made this great Australian quilt using a fabric panel.

Judith finished her "Winding Ways" quilt top.

Judith also finished up a hand pieced quilt that she started a long time ago.

Lastly a make by our very own Maddie.  She made this "I'll Drink to That" bag as a Christmas present.  Pattern is ByAnnie and can hold 4 wine bottles or glasses.

We can't wait to see what everyone makes in 2021!!!

Happy Stitching! Kimz Team x
